Mormonism teaches that we become Gods or like Gods through a process of spiritual evolution. Based on that doctrine, some have assumed and even preached that as men are, God once was. Others believe that God is eternal in a sense that he was never born, but ever existed. Regardless of what we believe in this matter, one may wonder how this whole thing started. If God is eternal how did he came to be? If he became a God through a spiritual process, what about his predecessors? Let’s assume he was the very first intelligence in the whole universe, in this case I assume he probably evolved from his original state of… unorganized matter? If he was capable of evolving, so were all the others “matters” in the universe, meaning, there maybe others Gods out there that evolved in the same way he did.

What is your take on it?
